Social Network as Imaginary Friend. I suspect that most of us don’t keep in mind the vast difference between our mental model of our social network and the actual experiences of each person within it. Since the vast majority of our posts receive neither retweets nor replies, the assumptions we make about how we are perceived by the so-called Twittersphere is mostly something we make up out of thin air.
